This page gives some information about Planned Giving at St Mary's and St Paul's Churches, Thornbury.
There are now three ways in which it is possible participate. One is to pay by standing order on a regular basis. In this way, your bank account is automatically debited with the chosen regular amount until specified otherwise. You can complete a Bankers Order and send it off to your bank.
Another way is to use the envelope scheme. Envelopes can be used to pay any amount at any time at church, either in the offertory collection or in the wall safe.
With either of these methods, for tax-payers, the church can benefit further through claiming Gift Aid on all donations. This can be done by completing a Gift Aid declaration and returning it to the Planned Giving Recorder.
There is now a third way called the Parish Giving Scheme, which was launched in October 2010, whereby the giver sets up a direct debit with the diocese who administers the scheme. The amount given still belongs to the parish and can be increased by inflation if so desired. The diocese reclaims any gift aid and passes it back together with the donation to the parish.
If you would like to join the Planned Giving Scheme, then please let the Planned Giving Recorder know (send an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org) and he can send you pre-numbered envelopes which you can use, or a Bankers Order, or details of the diocese Parish Giving Scheme.
